The Skatalites live at Fédération Hiéro in Colmar Thu, 01 April 1999.
This is my first show after Tommy McCook and Roland Alphonso have passed. It is the first show with Cedric IM Brooks at the tenor. It’s a different band now.
I’m not 100% sure, if the group around Cedric IM remains the same, but I guess so.
Saturday 3rd of April I go to Grenoble to meet the band one more time (here) and August 21st in Bern (here).
After the show in Colmar I was with Will Clark in his hotel room. There were also 4-5 guys from France. The TV was on and there was a french rap running. Will asked the young french guys about what he’s rapping. But they didn’t understand. But I did, so I translate for Will and the french guys were stunning. I don’t speak french fluidly, but I understand it with feel. And that’s what help to understand music…
