The Skatalites World Tour 1995 part 2 from Wed, 04-October-1995 to Sun, 08-October-1995 from Toulouse to Limoges, Paris, Lille to Dijon.
I’m not part of the whole tour, but this is another time to spend with The Skatalites. New stories, new experiences. And again, I’m invited to be a tour guide and merchandiser. Lloyd Brevett needs some pocket money and give me some records (from Studio One). I should sell them for him. It’s quite impossible to sell any records. People come to dance, not to buy records.
The second time in Toulouse at the Bikini is almost like coming home. It’s such a nice place with a crew full of hospitality.
Limoges with the Salle John Lennon is a great place. In 1996 I’ll be there again (see here).
Ris Orangis is close to Paris I guess Banlieu is the word for it. There is a burnt van and an atmosphere of rude. But who cares? In the club Le Plan everything is great. Charles asks me for my backstage. Slave Of Jah is playing the warm-up.
Aeronef in Lille is a clean place. In that time it is forbidden to smoke in clubs and public houses. But nobody cares. Except in Lille. There is a lot of security to proof nobody is smoking inside the club. Finally it’s the only place, where merchandise was stolen. Ironically at the most secure club. And outside there is a riot going on. Fist fights. I haven’t seen those things ever before.
The final show of the World Tour 1995 for me is in Dijon. It’s funny to meet Chicky Monkey again (see here).
