The Roots Connection presents on Friday night, September 4th 1992 The Mad Lighters at the second show at Sedel in Luzern
Another Roots Connection event with The Mad Lighters (the first show see here). A second time The Roots Connection invited this wonderful band from Neuchâtel.
On this one I was announced as “DJ-Clood”. I’m really sorry not to remember well, what was going on that special day. As far as I remember I was sick and had a flew with fever. But I was running around from here to there and so on. There was half full, maybe or even less than that.
Ska- and Reggae-Time: Once again Mad Lighters at Sedel-Club next Friday. Reggae fans in Luzern remember well this Swiss Reggae-band from last years show. Aside of roots reggae (inna 70s style) and Ska the Mad Lighters also covers Bob Marley at its best. The Mad Lighters playing together since 1983 as The Heart Beat Band. They recorded several times with Ska-legend Rico in the studio and were on tour.
Something like this is written in the short announcement from the newspaper.
I’m not sure, if this picture is from the 1991 tour or from 1992.
The Peacestreet guestbook represents this event with two pages. The whole book can be seen here (every 10 seconds a new page!).
Members of The Mad Lighters
- Antonello Lubello (b)
- Philippe Santschi (voc, perc)
- Daniel Spahni (dr)
- Cristina Lubello (key, melodica, voc)
- Allan Tidburry (tb)
- Nick Tidburry (tp)
- Pierre Kof (ts)
- Patrick Bürge (gt)
I’m not sure, if this was the band from the first or the second show and I’m not sure, if this was the real line-up. The first four have been here for both shows, that is for sure.
I’ve found a very lovely reply from the management, where he wrote, that the whole band enjoyed their time in Luzern very much. Thanks to the one and only Ska’n’Reggae band from Switzerland.
