Augustus Pablo & The Rockers Band with Yami Bolo and Junior Delgado plus The Wailers at Volkshaus, Zurich on Friday, first of December 1989
Some memory of this event are very close. I was standing with my brother Roger way back under the balcony behind it all, but with a great few to the stage and this tiny man with the melodica.
The first act I remember was the Rockers Band, the with Yami Bolo. Augustus Pablo comes after. And then Junior Delgado. No memory is left for The Wailers. Maybe we took the last train to Luzern.
I recorded about 90 minutes of this event. But I was talking quite a lot with my brother. At that time it was kind of boring sound. I mean, both singer, Yami Bolo and Junior Delgado have great voices and great tunes, but after 4 to 5 songs, it comes not enough to satisfy completely. Augustus Pablo is such a musical master, that is something completely different, but still. The band is good, but not excellent. As far as I remember, this show was far away, but the place wasn’t cooking at all. A lot of space, that’s why my brother and I standing that far from stage.
Not to be disrespectful, but I wasn’t pleased enough through the music. Still, Augustus Pablo reached my heart and body. In my dancing shoes with the recording equipment I enjoyed a lot.
Would be too great to attend a concert with Augustus Pablo around the first league of Jamaican musicians. In Zurich it was not that first league.
Years later, my friend Franziska gave me this pictures from that show. I guess, I haven’t seen The Wailers and Susu Bilibi at all. But maybe my memory is gone.

A funny side info: NoF-NoF I didn’t know in 1989, I first met NoF-NoF in 1992. And Franziska became a close friend in 1997.
