It is Saturday, June 03, 1989 and Vesna is asking me to play some fine records tonight. She loves Ska music. So, I pack a pile of selected records and we’re going to the industry, where the Boa is. But when we arrive at Boa, there is another party running. No way to play the records. But Vesna don’t give up that quick.

After a while she managed to go to Sedel. In Sedel, there is Martin Gössi cleaning the Club from yesterdays party. He takes a look at my records and is happy with the idea to listen to them later on.

I’m impressed of Vesnas skills on managing an event just like this. From nothing a few hours before to the already occupied Boa and then the very spontaneous Sedel to go on.

After some food, I start with my selection in the evening. At that time it was very usual, that the DJ takes a chair and select his records one by one. But I was kind of different, because, I love to dance, I was standing on stage, with my records and dancing, while searching the next tune. As far as I know, there is no other DJ performing the stage while selecting in 1989. Some people say, DJ Bobo is inspired by my performance, but I’m not sure, if he is aware of this… (laugh)

The Sedel Club is quite full, but there is a table, where some people are sitting an playing card games. The atmosphere is funny and the time is running fast. Martin Gössi comes to me to ask for a final tune. It’s 4 AM. Very unusual in 1989, all clubs are closing at 2 AM. But Sedel is different. It is the only place I know, where a party like this is possible. I mean, before 5 PM nobody knows about a party at Sedel. And now, 11 hours later, there is a remarkable party running.

It is difficult to finish the set. Everybody is still dancing. But every good thing must come to an end.
